Details of Workshops I have available.

Bookbinding Library 1 - Exposed Spine Bindings

The aim of this Workshop is to build a practical reference library/3d dictionary of techniques. It is NOT to make a single complete book.

 - 3 different types of stitched bindings - two over tapes

 - multiple cover variations

The intent being that the student will be able to cherry pick combinations for their own future creations.

(Can be tailored to: short taster workshop, demo or one complete book in a full day session)

Bookbinding Library 2 - Folded Books

The aim of this Workshop is to build a practical reference library/3d dictionary of techniques.  Many samples will be produced.  This is NOT making one complete book.

 - how to fold, from single sheet books to accordion, starting from square, rectangle and circle.

 - constructing pockets

 - covers and closures

(Can be tailored to: short taster workshop or demo of one format)

Bookbinding Library 3 - Stab Bindings

This Workshop forms part of a practical reference library/3d dictionary of techniques.

Japanese Stab Bindings come in many styles.   This Workshop will concentrate on the various stitch patterns, producing a range of samples in a plain format, to act as a future reference library.

(Can be tailored to: short taster workshop, demo or one complete book in a full day session)

All workshops will include hints and tips on papers, equipment alternatives.
The use of paper as a cover material allows time to concentrate on construction.
Information on fabric/embroidered covers/alternatives will be discussed.
